Navy’s Hamilton-Class vessel performs daring rescue

The Sri Lanka Navy successfully carried out a rescue operation off the coast of Galle, saving seven distressed fishermen from a dire situation. The fishermen were in peril as their fishing trawler, 'Ruhunu Kumari 6', caught fire at sea.
In a coordinated effort with the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centre (MRCC), the Sri Lanka Navy swiftly responded to the distress call. It dispatched the SLNS Gajabahu, an Offshore Petrol Vessel, to the scene.
The rescued fishermen were safely brought ashore at the Galle harbour. The joint operation demonstrated the effective collaboration between the Sri Lanka Navy and the MRCC in ensuring the safety of those in maritime emergencies.
