Eleven Pera students suspended over ragging

The administration of Peradeniya University has suspended 11 second-year students from the Management Faculty following an incident of ragging involving freshmen.
It is alleged that a group of new students took the victims to the Akbar dormitory and subjected them to five days of mistreatment, including being given rice that was not suitable for consumption and being verbally abused.
The administration's decision to suspend the students reflects the seriousness with which they regard ragging and their commitment to ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
