A positive growth in tax revenue in the first quarter of 2023

The Inland Revenue Department has collected Rs. 316 billion as tax revenue during the first quarter of the year 2023, The Commissioner General of the Inland Revenue Department, D.R.S. Hapuarachchi stated.

 

In comparison to the first quarter of 2022, this year; 2023’s first quarter shows a higher growth in the tax revenue rate.

 

The tax revenue rate collected during 2022 was Rs. 146,565 million and it is Rs. 316,619 million in 2023.

 

“When compared to the first quarter of the previous year, it shows a positive growth of 216%”, he added.
