A rare gun attack in Japan: four people are assailed

Four people have been killed in a rare shooting and stabbing attack in Japan.

 

The alleged assailant has stabbed two women and two policemen.

 

The suspect named, Masanori Aoki is reported as a 31-year-old son of a local politician. 

 

Gun violence remains extremely rare in Japan, despite the killing of ex-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in July last year.

 

The motive of the attacker is not clear though he is said to have replied: “I killed her because I wanted to" when he was questioned about the reason.
