A 62-year-old Buddhist monk was allegedly arrested for child abuse

A 62-year-old Buddhist monk was allegedly arrested and remanded for abusing an eleven-year-old girl. The girl is the daughter of his mistress and he will be under remand till 30 May.

 

Upon a complaint received by the Mount Lavinia Child and Women's Bureau, the monk was apprehended. The child's father has filed the complaint. The investigations have revealed that this 62-year-old monk had an illicit affair with the abused girl's mother.
