Who asked for vehicles?

Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Ramesh Pathirana has very clearly stated that none of the government ministers and MPs have requested for the importation of new vehicles.

 

SJB parliamentarian Harsha de Silva has clearly stated that his party known nothing about getting down vehicles for MP’S. The JVP and other parties are yet to comment.

 

Then remains the question as to who asked for the vehicle import? There is no information that the public made such request.

 

It was reported that the Ministry of Finance is taking steps to issue duty-free vehicle permits to 79 Members of Parliament who were newly elected and it was later reported that the proposal was dropped.
