A scary COVID estimate: One million cases IN 100 DAYS

Health Ministry Spokesman Dr. Hemantha Herath has presented some alarming statistics on the  Covid infection rate. Sri Lanka could face the risk of reporting over one million COVID-19 cases within the next 100 days according to Dr. Hemantha Herath.

 

He told the media that the caseload in the country had been estimated to double every five days and if COVID-19 virus is spread to another person within 5-6 days, the caseload will double every five days, and the overall number will the one million mark," he added.

Observers comment that if the spread is such serious the precautions taken may be needed to be reconsidered.
