Musical chairs and Govt Media

Changing heads of government media organizations have almost become an established tradition. Former Governor of the Northern Province Reginald Cooray has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC).

 

Reginold Cooray replaced former Rupavahini Chairman Dr. Nihal Jayathilaka, who was appointed as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution. A few weeks ago the Sri LANKA broadcasting corporation Chairman Jagath Wickramasinghe, resigned after some controversy.

 

The previous government reputedly changed heads and now all government media organizations are running at a loss and balancing income and expenditure has become a critical issue.
