Transfer to jailor who provided mobile phone to Rishad Bathiudeen

A mobile phone was found in the possession of MP Rishad Bathiudeen, who is being held at the Magazine Prison yesterday.

Prison spokesman, Commissioner of Prisons Chandana Ekanayake said that the jailor who handed over the mobile phone was transferred to the Vavuniya Prison after a disciplinary inquiry.

Bathiudeen is due to be produced in court on charges of possession of a mobile phone and the mobile phone has been handed over to the intelligence services for further investigation.
