Traffic lane law amended : Three wheelers and motorcycles to get more space

The Director of Motor Traffic and Road Safety of the Sri Lanka Police, SSP Indika Hapugoda announced that the three- wheelers and motorcycles wil get more space when the Traffic Lane Law is being enforced from September 18 (today).

 

Accordingly, the first two lanes from the left side, on roads consisiting of four lanes, will be allocated for buses, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.

 

In the case of the  roads with three-lanes, the first lane from the left side which is the bus priority lane will be allocated for buses and the motorcycles and three-wheelers  are needed to use same lane, but will be allowed to overtake buses using the adjoining lane on the right side.
