The LANKAQR popularization began today

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka today launched the LankaQR Nationwide Campaign under the auspices of State Minister of Digital Technology Namal Rajapaksa.

 

Using the LANKAQR compliant mobile payment app, customers can make payments directly to merchants from their bank accounts, and the payment is immediately credited to the merchant's bank account.

 

To make a payment, the customer must scan the LankaQR using a mobile payment app and the seller will receive an instant SMS confirming payment.

 

The Central Bank believes that activating money transactions through LANKAQR will play a key role in maintaining a cashless economy.
