The Department of Registration of Persons (DRP) resumes services from Monday

According to Department of Registration of Persons (DRP)  Commissioner-General Viyani Gunathilaka, the department will open for public services on July 5 for a restricted number of persons and those who have registered a prior date and number to receive their National Identity Cards (NICs). He has further stated that the one-day service is no longer available and that the general public should submit their completed applications to the Divisional Secretariat via the Grama Niladharis.

Applicants who have already filed applications and expect to visit the office, require to make a reservation in advance, according to him.

The public is encouraged to contact DRP sub offices of particular Divisional Secretariats for appointments.
