Rough seas expected as the South-West Monsoon establishes across the country

The Department of Meteorology stated that the South-west monsoon condition has established across the country and showers are likely to continue over the South-western part of Sri Lanka during the next few days.
They added that showers are expected at times in the Western, North Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Winds will be South-westerly and a sudden increase up to 50-60 kmph is likely, especially in the deep and shallow sea areas of the island.
Naval and fishing community are requested to stay vigilant as the sea areas around the island are expected to be rough.
