Prohibits the use of public transport without a Duty Identity Card

State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama has stated that the rules and regulations imposed on public transport users and drivers and conductors of public transport services will be strictly enforced from yesterday (09).

Accordingly, the verification of official identity cards of persons using public transport services will commence from today, he added.

 The people were also requested to use public transport only for a matter of urgency in view of the prevailing situation in the country.
