Possible oil leak from Xpress Pearl

A European Marine Pollution observer points out in his Marine Pollution Surveillance report that there is suspicious spill from the wrecked X-press Pearl vessel which can be oil.The vessel is 9.5 nautical miles away from the Colombo Port now.

 

The report has been done depending on some satellite images captured to observe the climatic changes in the oceanic region.

 

The oil spill is already spread about 3 kms and it is suspected that it canbe spead more with the help of windy climate. This could cause a severe damage to the oceanic region as well affect the people's lives in numerous ways.
