No need to postpone the 2023 local government elections - Mahinda Rajapaksa

 

Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, while commenting on the controversial situation regarding the upcoming local government elections, said that there is no need to postpone the elections.

Answering a question raised by a journalist at the Parliament complex yesterday (February 21), Rajapaksa said that his party, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), is of the firm opinion that the 2023 local government elections should be held as scheduled.
