More deaths - Police officers cautioned

The Director-General of Health Services confirmed the deaths of 39 more covid-19 virus patients last night (28). The official announcement states that the deaths occurred from April 27 to yesterday. Of the 39 victims, 10 were under the age of 60.
IGP C.D. Wickramaratne has directed police officers not to harass or embarrass the public during inspections and during the implementation of quarantine law and said disciplinary action will be taken against superior officers, if such incident was reported in the future, a senior police officer told the media.
China says it saw only 119 cases of adverse events for every million doses of Covid-19 vaccines administered - a rate that is much lower than that reported for some Western vaccines, although there is little information on how the incidents were tracked, categorized and collated in the Asian country.
As many as 31,434 adverse events were reported out of 265 million shots given over the 4½-month period starting in mid-December last year, China's Centre of Disease Prevention and Control said in a statement on Friday (May 28), the Straits Times reported.
Abnormal reactions accounted for about 17 percent of total incidents reported while milder side effects such as fever and soreness from injection accounted for the rest.
