Lorry driver killed in landslide

Police said that a 43-year-old lorry driver named Nishantha Wijethilaka, a resident of Kurudugaspitiya, Matale, had died when a mound of earth had fallen on his lorry while he was loading soil at a mound in Kavudupelella, Matale.

The body has been placed at the Matale General Hospital for an autopsy and the Matale Police are conducting further investigations.
