Actress Geetha Kumarasinghe who is now a parliamentarian made an emotional appeal to the President to grant presidential pardon to former MP Ranjan Ramanayake.

 

She said that despite being in opposite camps she was making a humble appeal to the President to grant presidential pardon if possible. Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage recently said that Ranjan is an innocent man and that something needs to be done. Reportedly the president had asked SJB leader Sajith Premadasa to reason out in writing why Ranjan Ramanayake needs to be pardoned.
