If health advice is ignored, there will be 4,500 deaths per month in the future

Dr. Prasad Colombage, a media committee member of the Government Medical Officers' Association, said that between 4,000 and 4,500 Covid patients are at risk of dying within a month if health rules are violated.

He further stated that most of the reported patients are dependent on oxygen and the number of beds in the Colombo National Hospital is completely full of patients.

He also said that it was a problem that more patients were being reported than the number of beds in the children's hospital.

He said that even during the war in the country so many people did not die and this is a dangerous situation.
