General Election 2020 : Counting of ballots commences

The counting of votes for 2020 General Election is underway under tight security across Sri Lanka.

 

The National  Election Commission reached a decision  to commence counting votes at 7.00 a.m. this morning (August 6).

 

Election Commissioner - General Saman Sri Rathnayake stated that Counting of votes is underway  at 2820 centres under three stages, by counting votes in ballot boxes, party votes, and preferential votes respectively.
