Food shortages are a sham

The Department of Government Information said in a statement that reports that there was a shortage of essential food items in the country, including rice and sugar, were false and that the government had sufficient stocks of food items to meet the demand of the people.

The Department of Government Information further stated that the local and foreign media and social media propaganda that there is a severe food shortage in the country has no basis.
