Focus on weather today

Low level atmospheric disturbances are developing in the south of Sri Lanka.

 

Showers over 75 mm in the Eastern, Central and Uva provinces and in the Matara, Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts.

 

Elsewhere, showers or thundershowers during the evening or night. Heavy rainfall of around 75 mm can be expected in some places in those areas.

 

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate measures to minimize the dangers posed by temporary strong winds and lightning in those areas during thundershowers.
