Field Marshal hits out at Political Revenge Commission

Battle seasoned MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka made the best of parliamentary privileges during the debate on the Political Revenge Commission. He strongly criticized the Political Revenge Commission's recommendation to acquit a group of people who allegedly abducted 11 school-age children for ransom, murdered them and threw their bodies into the sea. He described the crime as heinous.
"I want to remind you that posters were put up all over Sri Lanka to take me to jail and catch my children. My children lived in hiding for five years. This country has such a history. The chairman of this commission is called a 'Pissu Poosa' in the country and the judiciary. We see these as Kekille's recommendations. We believe this has taken the law into its own hands and undermined the judiciary.
Next, the President has appointed a special Presidential Commission to seek recommendations on the report of the above Commission. The question before us is what steps to take next according to the report of the Special Presidential Commission. He labeled the commission as the "Pissu Poosa" Commission.
