Customs seize a stock of illegally imported oximeters

Sri Lanka Customs officers have seized a consignment of illegally imported oximeters.

The stock of oximeters has been released after submitting fake documents to the officials of SriLankan Cargo.

A subsequent inspection of the consignment revealed that the approval of the Drug Regulatory Authority had not been submitted to the Sri Lanka Customs and that the relevant import duty had not been paid.

The value of 4,200 oximeters packed in 21 boxes was Rs. 2,344,642.
