Country seizes liquor and cigarettes

The Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a man in possession of illegally imported duty free liquor and cigarettes during a raid in the First Lane area on Temple Road, Ratmalana.

The suspect was found in possession of 150 cartons of illegal cigarettes worth Rs. 3 million and 105 bottles of foreign liquor, a brand new car and a white sapphire gem.

The suspect, 49-year-old Cinda Mother Mohamed Pasli, has been handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police Station for further investigations.
