Businessman who bulldozed the Anawilundawa wetland arrested

A 35 year old shrimp businessman has been arrested for clearing a wetland sanctuary in Anawilundawa in Mundalama, Putlam.

 

The suspect is to be produced before the Chilaw Magistrate’s Court.

 

The backhoe driver, who is suspected of clearing the Anawilundawa Wetland Sanctuary, was  also arrested in the area of Mundalama, Puttalam on August 28.

 

The backhoe loader used by the suspect was taken into custody by the police.
