"Yaka Sampath" arrested in Battaramulla

Police have arrested a member of an organized criminal group named Eerigama Raapaksha Gedara Ananda Silva alias “Yaka Sampath”   on August 22.

 

The arrest was made in the area of Subuthipura in Battaramulla.

 

The Police have also taken  4g 300mg of heroin, a revolver, two swords, two iron rods, two fake vehicle number plates and a machete knife into custody from the suspect’s house.

 

The arrestee had been wanted by several police stations and the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID).

 

According to the Sources, the suspect is an associate of the underworld figure “Karate Dhammika”.
