An earthquake in Sri Lanka

 

Mr. AH Ravindra Kumara, Monaragala District Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Unit, said that information was reported that an earthquake had occurred in Buttala Palwatta area of ​​Monaragala district between 12.10 and 12.13 this afternoon.

When asked about this from the main office of the Disaster Management Center, an official said that an earthquake with a magnitude of 3 units on the Richter scale occurred in the area around the Buttala Palwatta Film Factory and no damage to property or life was reported.

The people of that area said that due to this earthquake, houses and buildings in Buttala Palwatta Wellawaya etc. areas were shaken.
