A warrant for the arrest of Shashi Weerawansa issued

Colombo Chief Magistrate issued an arrest warrant on Mrs. Shashi Weerawansa, wife of Minister Wimal Weerawansa.

 

The said warrant has been issued with regards to the case filed against the suspect for forging documents to obtain a passport. 

 

A counsel appearing for the suspect informed court, that his client was unable to attend the court sessions owing to an illness. 

 

However, a medical report was not produced to claim the above, in court during today's session.
