Government urges public not to be misled by false claims on COVID-19

Department of Government Information said all necessary measures have been taken by the Sri Lankan Government to curtail the spread COVID-19 pandemic across the country  .

 

The government urged the general public to follow the required guidelines set by the health authorities and not to be misled by the false claims  in relation to the pandemic situation circulated over social media. 

 

The statement also added that the government has not reached any decision with regards to the declaration of hoildays and re-imposition of curfew in view of the current situation, so far.

 

The Government has also instructed the relevant authorities to investigate into those who spread such false propaganda.
