A proposal to impose a 5% tax if the monthly income is more than 100,000

Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena suggested that a 5% tax should be imposed on all those whose monthly income exceeds one lakh.

He added that the tax should be imposed to maintain public services such as health and education in the face of the current covid epidemic.
