A wild elephant has died after being electrocuted

A wild elephant has died after being struck by an unauthorized power line in the Kalawelgala area in the Thanamalwila Divisional Secretariat Division.

Wildlife officials said the dead elephant was between 18 and 20 years old and in good health.

They further said that the person who had installed the power lines has not been identified yet.
