65 arrested for trying to go abroad illegally

Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that 65 persons were arrested by the police for staying at a hotel in Trincomalee while attempting to cross the border illegally by sea.

The arrest was made on a tip off received by the National Intelligence Service, including a 4-year-old girl.

The arrested are residents of Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi and Trincomalee.
