500 lakhs to Dinesh who adorned Sri Lanka with gold

The Ministry of Sports has decided to award a prize of Rs. 50 million to Dinesh Priyantha of the Army who set a world record in the javelin throw event at the Tokyo Paralympics.

His coach Pradeep Nishantha will also receive a cash prize of Rs. 165 lakhs, the first time in the history of the Olympics and Paralympics that Sri Lanka has won a gold medal.
