Russian tests positive for COVID-19 in Matara : hotel staff placed in quarantine

A Russian who was staying at a hotel in Polhena, Matara has tested positive for novel coronavirus following a PCR test conducted on September 23.
A Russian flight crew consisting 15 members arrived at the Mattala International Airport on September 13 and upon their arrival, the crew had undergone the mandatory quarantine process at the hotel in Matara.
However, as they were to leave for Russia today, the crew has undergone PCR tests at a private hospital in Matara and accordingly, one of the members has contracted the coronavirus.
The infected Russian crew member has been admitted to the Hambantota Hospital and the 23 staff members of the hotel and their family members have been placed at a quarantine centre in Habaragamuwa.
