Health Promotion Bureau SL : Face Shield - is it adequate?

It is stated in an article published by the Health Promotion Bureau that wearing merely a face shield is insufficient.

It further states that ;

"We hope to limit the transfer of COVID virus from an infected person to a healthy person by wearing a face mask in the area between them. The level of protection provided by a mask is determined by how well the mask filters and how well it fits on an individual's face.
In situations where maintaining physical distance is difficult, you can combine a face shield with a face mask.

However, a face shield should never be used in place of a face mask because it does not give the same level of protection.

Another key point to underline is that wearing a face mask is simply one of the preventative measures we can employ to limit the transmission of illness, and it's vital to remember that wearing a face mask alone does not guarantee complete protection against COVID 19."
