Peradeniya University opens for the general public on July 1

The management of Peradeniya University has made a historic decision to declare July 1 as an open day in celebration of its 80th anniversary. 

 

 

For the first time ever, the university will open its doors to the public, allowing them to visit the campus and experience the academic environment and natural beauty firsthand. 

 

 

All faculties of the university will be accessible from 9 am to 4 pm on that day. The opening ceremony will take place at the 'Sanathana Mandiraya' and the Arts Faculty gallery. 

 

 

Peradeniya University, known for its picturesque location, ranks among the top 500 universities globally. During the open day, visitors will have the opportunity to interact with faculty members, learn about various courses, and explore different divisions and educational resources. 

 

 

Additionally, there will be entertaining programs, including science exhibitions, cultural performances, and opportunities to discuss higher education matters with scholars. Visitors can also gain insights into the arts, laboratory facilities, library resources, and other special features of the university.
