Questions raised over Thirimanne’s sudden decision to retire

Lahiru Thirimanne, the Sri Lankan cricketer, immediately announced his retirement from international cricket. He expressed that it was a difficult decision but didn't disclose the specific reasons behind it. 

 

 

Thirimanne thanked everyone who supported and encouraged him throughout his career, including the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, coaches, teammates, physios, trainers, analysts, fans, supporters, and journalists. 

 

 

He played in 44 Test matches, 127 One Day Internationals, and 26 T20 Internationals, achieving significant milestones in each format.
