Murali awaits India vs. England exciting cricket tournament - 2023

According to former Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, India is strongly favored to win the 2023 World Cup. Muralitharan pointed out that when India co-hosted the tournament in 2011, they emerged as champions by defeating Sri Lanka in the final held at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.
Since then, the host nations have consistently won the coveted trophy. Muralitharan, who played his final international match against India in that final 12 years ago, expressed excitement about watching the World Cup match between the hosts and England. He believes that India has an advantage because they are playing on home turf and have a good track record in India.
Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag also shared his insights, stating that the pitches in the World Cup are likely to favor teams from the sub-continent. Sehwag mentioned that India and Sri Lanka have strong spin attacks, while Afghanistan may struggle due to their weaker batting compared to their bowling.
India's first match in the World Cup will be against Australia on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled for October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
