SLPP not happy with President summoning District Chiefs

According to reports, the district leaders of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) opted not to attend the meeting called by the President on Monday evening.
Initially, it was stated that the President had summoned Cabinet Ministers, State Ministers, SLPP district leaders, and others for a meeting at his office.
The meeting began at 6 PM, but after about an hour, the MPs and Ministers left the President's Office. It was reported that the SLPP decided not to involve its district leaders in the meeting.
The SLPP expressed discontent over the President's decision to summon district leaders, noting that the President has the authority to call Cabinet Ministers and State Ministers.
The party emphasized that the SLPP should be informed if such a meeting is to be held. Party internal sources stated that summoning SLPP district leaders for a session through the President's Office cannot be accepted, and this reflects the stance of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
