A special meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers is scheduled to take place today (June 28) to discuss the process of restructuring domestic debt. During this meeting, the proposal for domestic debt restructuring will be presented to the Cabinet for approval.

Additionally, Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has issued a Gazette Extraordinary, calling for a parliamentary session on Saturday (July 01).

This special session, requested by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, will commence at 9.30 a.m. During this session, the proposal for domestic debt restructuring will be presented for adoption.

Furthermore, President Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to meet with Members of Parliament representing the ruling party later in the evening following the special Cabinet meeting.
