UNP led-alliance to contest next election

Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), Ruwan Wijewardene, hinted that a UNP-led alliance might potentially participate in the upcoming election.
The UNP has expressed that they have no issues regarding the support received from the President. They also commented on the decision of SLPP District Leaders to boycott the President's meeting on Monday (12), stating that numerous political groups are supporting the President.
Wijewardene emphasized the need for stability and suggested that Ranil Wickremesinghe should continue as President for the next five to ten years, and they intend to pursue this plan. He further mentioned that when these supportive groups unite, they can contest the election as an alliance.
