Former SJB MP arrested

On Wednesday (14), P.D. Abeyratne, the former Member of Parliament and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) organizer for the Horana electorate was arrested by the police. The arrest was made about an incident where Abeyratne discharged a firearm outside his Poruwadanda, Horana residence the previous day.

 

 

According to reports, Abeyratne fired his firearm into the air to intimidate a group of individuals who had gathered at his home. The police took him into custody for his actions.

 

 

Abeyratne is scheduled to appear before the courts on Thursday (15), as confirmed by the police.
