Special allowances for police on duty during Sacred Tooth Relic exposition

Following the instructions of the Acting IGP, a special transport allowance and a combined allowance will be provided to police personnel assigned to ensure the safety of local and foreign devotees attending the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Dekma) at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, the police said.

 

Personnel on duty are responsible for both security and implementing the traffic management plan during the event. 

 

The decision to grant the allowances was made in consideration of the fact that these police personnel will be on continuous day and night duty for over 10 days, away from their regular stations and incurring additional personal expenses.
