Maddegoda, Rajeev, Abeyaratne hand over nominations for BASL election

Anura Meddegoda PC, President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL), along with former BASL Secretaries Rajeev Amarasuriya and Dr. Sunil Abeyaratne submitted their nominations today for the position of BASL President for the 2025-2026 term.

 

The three candidates handed in their nominations for the post of BASL President, while Attorney-at-Law Chathura Galhena also submitted his nomination to continue for a second term as BASL Secretary, in the presence of Solicitor General Viraj Dayaratne at the BASL Secretariat.

 

Meanwhile, Attorney-at-Law Chathura Galhena was elected unopposed as BASL Secretary for the 2025/2026 term. 

 

Elections for the post of President will take place on February 19, 2025.
