NPP’s 30% electricity tariff reduction promise by cutting corruption is blatant lie - Harsha

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr. Harsha De Silva said the National People's Power's (NPP) 30% tariff reduction promise by cutting corruption was a blatant lie and claimed that the main cause for the Ceylon Eelectricity Board (CEB) losses is the below cost tariff.
He said in a post on X that competition can bring down costs if President Anura Kumara Dissanayake does not roll back the current Act and cash transfer for needy.
"Yes, there was and is corruption, but the main cause for the CEB losses is below cost tariff. Competition can bring costs down if President Anura Kumara Dissanayake does not roll back the current Act plus cash transfer for the needy," he said.
