SJB complains to Election Commission against Prime Minister

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) lodged a complaint against Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya over a statement made by her asking her party supporters to campaign even during the silent period. 

 

SJB MP Mujibur Rahman handed over the written complaint to the Election Commission this morning and called for legal action against the Prime Minister.

 

The campaigning period for the local government elections ended from midnight on Saturday May 3 2025. No party can legally engage in election campaigns during this period as per the law.
