Litro increases LP gas prices

The price of a cylinder of 12.5 kg Litro domestic LP gas has been increased by Rs. 95 with effect from today, Litro Gas chairman Muditha Peiris said.

 

Accordingly, the new retail price of a 12.5kg cylinder of gas will be Rs. 3,565.

 

The 5 kg cylinder of gas (Rs. 1,395) will be increased by Rs. 38, and its new retail price will be Rs. 1,431. The 2.3 kg cylinder of gas will be increased by Rs. 18, and the new retail price will be Rs. 668.

 

The gas prices increased according to the rise in international LP gas prices in November, the depreciation of the rupee and the rise in other costs, the chairman said.

 

The company has been able to maintain the prices of the domestic LP gas at a lower cost due to strategic planning and management of stock, and this is a burden to the customer, he added.
