SL, US to make joint statement on reciprocal tariffs - President

Claiming that the discussions between the Sri Lankan delegation and the US government on reciprocal tariffs were fruitful, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today that Sri Lanka and the United States will make a joint statement shortly.

 

Addressing an election rally in Ratnapura, he said a Sri Lankan delegation which is currently visiting the USA had fruitful discussions on Monday (22) and that Sri Lanka and the USA will make a joint statement regarding the matter.

 

"The Deputy Finance Minister informed me that the discussion with the USA has been fruitful," he said.

 

The Sri Lankan delegation left for the USA to hold discussion with the IMF on the EFF programme and also have discussions with the US government on the recent reciprocal tariffs imposed on Sri Lankan export to the US.
